BEOWULF

The Old English epic poem Beowulf tells the story of a young Geatish warrior who comes to the aid of Hrothgar, the King of the Danes, whose kingdom is being terrorized by a monster named Grendel. Beowulf uses his epic strength and bravery to slay Grendel in Hrothgar’s mead hall, Heorot, and then to slay Grendel’s vengeful mother in her underwater lair. Beowulf’s fame spreads, and he returns home to Geatland laden with treasure for his king, Hygelac. Beowulf later becomes the king of the Geats and rules for a peaceful fifty years. When a dragon begins to pose a threat to Geatland, Beowulf and his servant Wiglaf set off to defeat it. Beowulf succeeds in slaying the dragon, but dies in the process.

The Globalization

The phenomenon of globalization  is a process that unites human communities, thanks to the continuous exchange of goods, services and money. Globalization concerns the economy, technology, culture and politics.

CULTURE:The globalization has in fact modified certain lifestyle in all parts of the world; more and more 'new customs' are spreading different styles of music, different styles of fashion and different styles of American cuisine through the spread of the so-called McDonalds where they consume foods that don't respect a healthy diet.

                                           POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE ASPECTS

The phenomenon of globalization is a very complex phenomenon because it can be seen in several respects, both positive and negative, which prevent it from taking a precise position.
Globalization has brought richer states to become richer more and more to the detriment of the poor who are becoming more. Furthermore, with globalization, the various cultures and traditions of a place are also being lost. An example is the fashion that is the same in all parts of the world, canceling the traditions or the typical dishes of a place that can now be found in all parts of the world.

TYPES OF HOUSES

In UK there are a lot of houses, but the most popular are detached, semi-detached and terraced house. A semi-detached is a house which is joined to another house on one side. The detached is a house that has a front garden and back garden and in the end the terraced house is a house that has a different door and it is made in group of houses all together.

THE FANTASTIC FILM GREASE

This film is based on a love story of two guys. Danny and Sandy met in a school and fall in love, she should return to Australia after the holidays, but after a few days the parents decide to stay there. Danny didn't know that and when he saw her for don't lose his reputation in school, he didn't give her confidence and at that moment the girl out of spite made friend with another boy. During a dance contest, make peace and dance in pairs until the ex-girlfriend of Danny interferes and Sandy becomes even more angry. In another dance contest she is more aggressive and determined, so Danny understands that they are made for each other and then continue their love story. I like this film because both love to dance and I love it, and I recommend to see it because it's very suitable for people who love to dance and like this types of movies.💃💞

The memory of a love in a diary

This is the story of Jack and Phyllis Potter, an english couple who in 2014 celebrated 70 years of life together. Since he was a child, Jack has a passion for writing and for this he writes every day of his life in a diary. When he met Phyllis, he wrote:'It was a fantastic afternoon. I danced with a wonderful girl. I hope to see you again 💘' and sixteen month later they married. They were a happy couple until her fell ill, losing a memory. Jack has always been close to Phyllis, and so to remind her of their days of love together, he makes her read all the pages of his diary!💑

The past event I will never forget

The past event I will never forget is when I did my first dance show. That day I was very excited because I couldn't wait to dance for the first time on a stage before so many people, but at the same time I was very scared because I was afraid that I would forget something. When I did the first show I was 14 years old and I didn't know anything about it but my teachers helped me saying that I would be very good and that I would to stay calm because everything would have been fine.💞😍

When I opened the gift box I found a book about science. I was completely surprised by this gift because I looked everywhere but I never found it anywhere. While I continued to remove the card from the gift my parents laughed and I didn't understand why... After some time I opened the book and it was a joke! It was only the cover.. Ohw very funny!!😣
But in the end they gave me the complete gift with another book.😉

Katharine Hepburn born in Connecticut was an American actress born in 1907 and died in 2003. In her career, she received twelve Oscar nominations for Best Actress. In 1999 the American film institute has considered  her the greatest american actress of all time. Her early years in the cinemas were marked by success, so much so that she won the Oscar for her third film 'Morning Glory'. She left the scene in 1994 at the age of 87 after a period of inactivity ans ill health, Katharine died in 2003 at the age of 96.

                                  A Person Who Inspires Me💘 

A person who inspires me is my sister Sara. She's 21 years old and I adore her. She is bad-tempered because she is very grumpy and sometimes unkind, but also adorable, brave and very responsible. She is a person who inspires me because she is brave in everything and helps me in some situations even if she doesn't agree. She finished her studies at the age of 18 and didn't like school very much, but nevertheless she prays me to do my best always and in all. She is very generous with me, but woe to touch something without her permission .😄👎

 💕 SAN VALENTINE'S CARDS💕

The first Valentine's cards were sent in the 18th century. Initially there were handmade efforts, as pre-made cards were not yet available. Lovers would decorate paper with romantic symbols including flowers and love knots, often including puzzles and lines of poetry. Those who were less inspired could buy volumes that offered guidance on selecting the appropiate words and images to woo their lover. These cards were then slipped secretly under a door, or tried to a door-knocker.💬💞

Clever Centipede

                                      CLEVER CENTIPEDE 

A single man wanted someone to help him with the household chores, so he decided to get a pet to help out.

He went to the local pet shop and asked the owner for advice on a suitable animal.

The owner suggested a dog, but the man said:

'Nah, dogs can't do dishes.'

The owner then suggested a cat, but the man said: 'Nah, cats can't do the ironing.'

Finally the owner suggests a centipede

'This is the perfect pet for you. It can do anything!'

'Ok', the man thought, 'I'll give it a try' so he bought it and took it home.

Once home he told the centipede to wash the dishes... the centipede looks over and there are piles and piles of dirty dishes that look to be a month old.

Five minutes later, all the pots are washed, dried and put away. 

'Great' thought the man. Then he told the centipede to do the dusting and vacuuming.

Fifteen minutes later the house is spotless!

Wow, thought the man, so he decided to try another idea.

'Go down to the corner and get me the evening paper', he told the centipede, and off it went.

Fifteen minutes later, the centipede hadn't returned... 30 minutes later and still no centipede!

...forty-five minutes and the man was sick of waiting, so he got up and went out to look for the centipede.

As he opened the front door, there on the step was the centipede.

'Hey, what are you doing there? I sent you out for the paper 45 minutes ago and now I find you out here without the paper! What gives?!

'Hold on a minute!' said the centipede 'I'm still putting on my boots!'

The origin of Christmas balls

A very poor street artist is in Bethlehem in the days following the birth of the Child Jesus. He wanted to go to see him but he didn't even have a gift to bring him. After some hesitations he decided to go to the cave and visit him. An idea occurred to him: he did what he could best, the juggler, and made the little boy laugh. From that day on to remind us of the laughter of the Child Jesus hang some colored balls on the Christmas tree.

        

Carla Fracci

                                        BIOGRAPHY: CARLA FRACCI
Carla Fracci is an italian dancer and she is born in Milan. She began dancing at the of ten at the 'LA SCALA THEATRE BALLET SCHOOL'. She was a principal guest artist with American Ballet Theatre from 1967 and she was known for her performances in Giselle, and for dancing with famous partners such as Roberto Bolle. Her autobiography 'Passo dopo passo' was published on December 2013. In the her autobiography she described a personal life from when she start her first experiences. For me it's a wonderful dancer and I hope to be able to follow this dream as she did.
